KatanaBattleGirls is clearly focused on the characters and their aesthetic, and not on the story. Eventually it became obvious that it would be more fun and interesting to make a game instead of a comic.

I damn wanted to make a fighting game, but it’s just sooo complicated.

What would be a good way to introduce the concept of KatanaBattleGirls in the form of a relatively simple game?

Talking with a pro game designer, I got the answer.

An arcade. A shoot’em up.

Such type of game allows to represent the aesthetics and idea visually, even with the limited resources I have available, thanks to the simple gameplay involved.

Right now I am creating the visual concept of the game, the design part, and I am also thinking about the game mechanics. I’m planning to post my advance here as it goes.

Then, coding will be needed.

Since I ruled out coding it myself, I am thinking either finding funding to hire a professional programmer, or team with a programmer with whom share the benefit from selling the game, once it is completed. I am biased toward the first option. To find the funding needed, I may create a crowdfunding campaign.

Stay tuned to find out when I do it. That's why I ask you to watch me in deviantart, and/or to subscribe to my website: www.katanabattlegirls.com

I’m nervous! I don’t know if all this will pan out, wait for it!

Let’s make this shit guys!

PS: If you are a programmer and can help/give me advice, and even if it’s only one line, I’d appreciate if you contact me at katanabattlegirls at gmail dot com.

Hello fellow deviants,

I have been using a really old Genius Mousepen8x6 pen tablet, at least 10 years old now. Miraculously the thing still works fine, however I can't get the pressure sensitivity to work for most programs (it only works with photoshop 32 bit version). Pressure sensitivity is important to me since my art relies on the lineart primarily. In particular I need it in illustrator to get clean lines.

My guess is that the tablet is too old so that it doesn't get support in the shape of drivers that make it compatible with current versions of art software.

I am thinking about getting a new tablet up to date which works with photoshop, illustrator, paint tool sai and any other current software. Lowish budget, meaning I just want it to do its work without fancy features.

Do you guys have recommendations?

Thanks!
Luis
I need to make a clean line for my designs, similar to this one: i5.minus.com/iLCpKvWHQAACn.png

I routinely use photoshop, and with that I cannot do better than a slightly wibbly wobbly line composed of many small lines and kind of dirty (same as in traditional medium, honestly). I can probably do the line clean by zooming in a lot and be more precise, but I think this would take me ages. I am looking for a more time-efficient way of achieving the same

What do you guys suggest? Doing the line with illustrator perhaps? How do you do crisp clean lineart in a timely manner?

Cheers
